On your site
What Vesper adds to the site it builds, and why all of it is plain static files.
Vesper does more than edit content. Every astro build also indexes your site for search, checks each built page's accessibility structure, and turns the studio's redirects into pages any host can serve.
Everything it adds is static files in dist/, beside the pages Astro builds: the studio at /admin, the search index, and a redirect page at each old address. Nothing needs a server, a function or a host setting, so the site works the same on Netlify as on a shared host you upload to by FTP.
The accessibility report is the one thing that stays out of dist/. It's written to .vesper/ in your project, so it's never deployed.
- Site searchVesper indexes your site with Pagefind at every build, and one component gives visitors a search dialog that works on any host.
- Accessibility checksVesper checks content in the studio as it's edited, and every page at build, and reports what it finds in plain words.
- HostingThe built site and the studio are plain static files, so they work on any host, from Netlify to a shared host you upload to by FTP.
